Many of the
youngsters joined the course of English literature due to this amazing writer
of books in the UK, named as Jane Austen. Jane was an
English novelist born in 1775. She was famous for her work in six novels which
included critique, interpretation, and
comment on the British community at the end of the 18th century. Being a woman,
Austen used to understand the flaws of society towards women and tried to
depict the story in her novels. Most of her work revolved around the topic
where women are dependent on their marriages in order to find a favourable social standing as well as financial
security.
If I am not wrong
then as per the recent news, “The Royal Mint, in a New Year’s statement,
announced that Austen has been chosen as the new image for its commemorative £2
coins. At about the same time, the Bank of England is expected to release its
new, plastic, unrippable £10 note and in
the process will replace Charles Darwin with an Austen portrait. The notes are
expected to be released in summer 2017.”
If you ask then
the historians will not be able to recall the last time when anybody was
recognized for both coin and notes together other than the reigning monarch. It is the highest paid tribute that
anyone has ever received for their work in the UK,
that too for their work for books
